Tom and Gavin are back in the studio and they share their impressions and highlights from the recent Simple Church Conference held in September of 2014 in Wilmore, Kentucky.
Today’s podcast is a recording of a sermon that Gavin preached back in January of 2014 at First Alliance Church in Lexington, Ky. The name of the sermon is “A Simple Church on Every Street.” Gavin describes the work currently going on within the Simple Church Alliance, as well as his vision for what the future holds for Simple Churches in Lexington and Kentucky and the world.

Meet Dustin and Lauren, a young couple who are working among an unreached people group from West Africa. They work in a major urban center here in the United States among immigrants from a West African Nation. Sorry we can’t provide more details, but for security reasons we are being deliberately vague. Dustin and Lauren are seeking to evangelize and plant organic churches among this people group. This is part one of a two part interview.

For most of the 20th Century, the church was a prominent part of our culture. Even if some people never attended church, the institution of church had much more respect than it does now in the early 21st century. It seems that the church is not as attractive as it used to be in our society. If this is true, what are the ramifications for church today, whatever form it may take? How will the church make disciples of the people in our society if the society has little interest in Christianity or the church? Listen as Gavin, David and Tom discuss this topic.
