PC Button

Today, Gavin and Tom review a recent article from National Public Radio’s All Things Considered that features the rise of house churches in America. You can hear the four minute audio by clicking here:

That discussion leads into a conversation about the “One-Another” scriptures. Jesus makes it clear that how we treat one another is a strong indicator of our spiritual health. Is it easier or harder to love one another in a simple church?

Here are some of the “one-another” verses:

Be devoted to one another                                    Romans 12:10

Be of one mind toward one another                      Romans 12:16

Accept one another                                               Romans 15:7

Forgive one another                                              Ephesians 4:32

Regard others more important than self               Philippians 2:3

Encourage one another                                          1 Thessalonians 5:11

PC Button

What happens if a person finds himself or herself trapped in a ministerial vocation that just doesn’t seem like a good fit, or is leading that person to ministry burnout? Is the simple church the answer? Maybe. Maybe not. Today Tom and Gavin discuss transitioning from a paid church ministry job into a simpler form of ministry. First, a huge caveat: WE ARE NOT ENCOURAGING ANYONE IN MINISTRY TO LEAVE THEIR POSITION!
This is part two of a two part series.
